About Us
PETS was founded by Anoux Massey in 2007.
Brief history of our organisation:
PETS is PRO-LIFE, PRO-ACTIVE Animal rescue organisation. This means that we physically visit townships daily to help and assist. We do not wait for people to seek help for their animals, we physically go and offer this to them.
Our organisation started in Somerset West in Western Cape under the Helderberg Municipality, but we have since also expanded to Johannesburg. We also assist where the need arises, NO areas excluded. Our Main area of operation has been the Township of Macassar in the Western Cape.
We are furthermore striving to expand our efforts in the Zola & Lwandle areas as this area is huge and cannot be covered and maintained by the Cape of Goodhope SPCA only.
We strive to empower animals in townships and poor communities. Pets living in such areas do not have the same privileges as other animals such as daily meals, warm shelters, regular inoculations, sterilizations and vet care in emergency situations. Therefore, we try to improve the lives of these disadvantaged animals by giving them all of the above and we also re-home those ones that are unwanted, unloved or lost.
In Summary
Our activities regarding animal empowerment include the following:
Food / Feeding
Sterilization
Vet Care (medication, de-worming, dipping, inoculations, tick & flea treatment, etc.) Emergency treatments (operations, stitches, blood tests, cancer treatment, euthanasia (only in extreme cases of pain or sickness etc.)
In closing:
We at PETS would GREATLY appreciate any funding that can be allocated to us, wether it be once off, or monthly contributions.
Donations of funding can be deposited into our bank account or directly to our various vet accounts.
